          of the Master and Secretary, the seal of the lodge, and the date of approval by the lodge, when it was
          received.  T  ese items are required to indicate approval and sponsorship by the lodge.  If the necessary
          certif cation is not received by the tyled opening of Grand Lodge on June 27, 2014, the Chairman of the
          Committee on Jurisprudence will recommend to the Grand Master that this resolution be rejected.










                                          RESOLUTION No. R - 2014- 04

           A RESOLUTION TO SELECT A STUDY COMMISSION, THAT WOULD STUDY POSSIBLE
           METHODS AND PROCEDURES FOR VETIING AND SELECTING PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES
           FOR ELECTION TO THE OFFICES OF THE GRAND TREASURER AND GRAND SECRETARY.

           Be it resolved that a study commission be selected, one Mason from each district of the Grand Lodge, to
          conduct a study of current and possible future methods and procedures for vetting and selecting prospective
          candidates for election to the of  ces of Grand Treasurer and Grand Secretary, and introducing the candidates
          to the constituent lodges.

           Be it further resolved that the scope of the study shall include, but not be limited to:

          L.  Determination of the conditions under which candidates(s) for Grand Treasurer and/or Grand Secretary
          shall be selected.
          2. T  e procedures to be used to advertise for or recruiting prospective candidates.
          3. T  e procedures to be used to determine the qualif cations and suitability of prospective candidates, and
          selecting the most qualif ed
          4. T  e procedures to be used to inform the constituent lodges of the results of the candidate search and the
          identity of the most qualif ed candidate(s).

           Be it further resolved that the Study Commission shall submit a Resolution to the Grand Lodge during the
          2015 Annual Communication.

           Be it further resolved that the Executive Committee, with the assistance of the Committee on Jurisprudence
          shall include in its report to Grand Lodge all necessary amendments to the Constitution and/or Code to
          implement the recommendations .

          Committee on Jurisprudence Comment:
          T  is resolution seeks to direct the Grand Master and the Executive Committee to form a special study
          commission to study possible methods and procedures for vetting and selecting prospective candidates for
          election to the of  ces of Grand Treasurer and Grand Secretary.  It further directs the special commission to
          develop resolutions to implement their recommendations at the next annual communication.  It does not seek
          to amend either the Constitution or Code at this time.

          Since this resolution does not seek to amend either the Constitution or Code, a favorable
          majority of votes cast is necessary for adoption.
