          original intent.  T  e special committee shall report on the proposed amendment by recommending passage
          or defeat thereof, and may concurrently recommend substantive amendments or a substitute Constitutional
          amendment which shall be considered by the members of Grand Lodge.

          If the proposed Constitutional amendment and any amendments to it are approved by a majority vote of the
          members present, it shall be referred to the Committee on Jurisprudence, which shall report thereon at the next
          annual communication.  A three-fourths favorable vote must be received at the next annual communication
          for the amendment to be adopted.






                                            RESOLUTION R-2014-02A

           A RESOLUTION TO AMEND SECTION 23090 OF THE CODE OF STATUTES OF THE GRAND
           LODGE A.F.&A.M. OF MONTANA TO PERMIT ELECTIONEERING IF ALLOWED ELSEWHERE IN
            THE CONSTITUTION OR CODE OF STATUTES.

           Be it resolved that Section 23090 of the Code of Statutes of the Grand Lodge A.F.&A.M. of Montana be
          amended to read:

          23090.  ELECTIONEERING. Except as otherwise allowed by the Constitution and Statutes of the Grand Lodge
          A.F..&A.M. of Montana, electioneering Electioneering is prohibited.

          Committee on Jurisprudence Comments:
          T  is resolution is companion legislation to Resolution R-2014-02, and seeks to amend Code Section 23090 to
          permit electioneering where it is specif cally allowed in other sections of the Constitution or Code.  It removes
          the potential conf ict between this section and Constitution Section 510 if R-2014-02 is passed.

          If Resolution R-2014-02 fails to receive a favorable majority vote, this resolution will be withdrawn as
          unnecessary.  If Resolution R-2014-02 receives a favorable majority vote, this resolution will be introduced
          and immediately tabled until the next annual communication.  If R-2014-02 is adopted at the next annual
          communication, this resolution will be taken of  the table and acted upon.

          In accordance with Section 50320, a favorable two-thirds vote is required for adoption of this resolution.
